OUR TEAM

Matt serves as the Lead Pastor at Refuge Bible Church. His desire is to see those who are lost in sin or distant from God, find their home in Him and grow deep roots in God and the Gospel. He gave his life to Jesus while at a High School retreat on Catalina Island in 1997. He has been in Pastoral Ministry since 2005. He grew up in Orange County (Huntington Beach) and moved to Monterey County in 2002. He met his wife, Kristen, at Calvary Chapel Bible College and they were married in August in 2004. They live in Spreckels with their  two incredible kids, Anna and Caleb. He enjoys spending time with his family, people, and all types of Mexican food. One of his favorite bible verses is Romans 5:8-9 - But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (NLT).
